Krista Diane Barber, 35 years young and from Indianapolis IN, lost her short battle with a a cancer of unknown origin that settled in her liver. We lost her at 2:20 am on Thursday March 12th. She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and an aunt. She cherished life and all that came with it. She devoted her life to her two kids, Kaitlyn and Andrew, and only wanted what was best for them. Anyone that you talked to about her will tell you the same thing: she was generous with her time, her money and her Life. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to John Mchugh and Diane Bennett on June 27th, 1979. One of her biggest achievements was graduating Indiana University in 3 years. She was very smart and loved to substitute teach. She always told us what a great time she had being part of kids lives and helping them to choose a good and right path. She loved lots of things, from baking to spending time outside to just relaxing in the house. As a family we played board games and even though everyone got competitive, it was still a lot of fun to do as a family. She is survived by her her husband, Matt Barber; daughter, Kailtyn; son, Andrew; mother, Diane (Chuck) Bennett; father, John (Phyllis) Mchugh; brother, Dan (Dena) Mchugh; sister, Erica Mchugh; a number of nieces and nephews; and other family members.
A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14th at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Chapel, 39 E. High Street, Mooresville, IN. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until Noon. Krista will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery. Donations may be made in Krista’s name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
